When threatened, it releases a dark, ink-like substance from its intestines to create a "smokescreen" that confuses predators and allows it to make a quick escape. Despite being called a 'sperm whale', it's much smaller, reaching only about 11 feet in length – a true 'pygmy' compared to its larger relative!
