Released 2017 The Gigantspinosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period. This dinosaur is particularly notable for the two massive, spiked shoulder plates it sported. These spikes were so large they almost looked like giant wings, which is reflected in its name — Gigantspinosaurus translates to "giant-spined lizard". These impressive spikes were likely used for protection against predators, making the Gigantspinosaurus a difficult meal for any dinosaur.
