The Neovenator, a carnivorous dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous period, had an interesting adaptation that might have given it a unique hunting advantage. Detailed study of Neovenator's fossilized skull revealed a network of neurovascular canals, especially around the snout area, which likely functioned similarly to the sensory organs that modern crocodiles have.
