The Snow Hare is wonderfully adapted for life in cold, snowy places. Its thick fur helps keep it warm, while its powerful back legs allow it to leap quickly across rough ground and deep snow. 

Some snow hares change the colour of their coat with the seasons, wearing brown or grey fur during the warmer months and turning almost completely white in winter. This snowy colouring provides excellent camouflage, helping them hide from predators in their icy surroundings.
