Dall’s porpoises are super-speedy ocean sprinters! They can swim at speeds of up to 55 km/h, which is as fast as a car in the city. When they zoom through the water, they make a big splash called a rooster tail behind them! 

They have a black body with bright white patches on their sides and belly, so from far away people sometimes mistake them for tiny orcas. They love to ride the waves at the front of boats, almost like they’re playing a game and showing off their speed.
