The Velociraptor, a name that means 'swift seizer', was a small but fearsome dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period.

They had a sharp, retractable sickle-shaped claw on each hind foot, used to tackle and incapacitate prey. The discovery of their fossilized remains in Mongolia, including a famous specimen locked in combat with a Protoceratops, provides valuable insight into their behavior and physical characteristics, making the Velociraptor a fascinating subject in the study of dinosaurs.
