The Hawksbill Sea Turtle has a uniquely shaped beak, similar to that of a bird's, which gives it its name. Its colorful and patterned shell was once highly sought after to make items like combs and glasses frames. Thankfully, due to conservation efforts, it's now illegal to trade in their shells. This turtle plays a crucial role in marine ecosystems, helping to maintain healthy coral reefs by feeding on sponges that can otherwise outcompete corals.
