Welcome to Animal Kingdoms and our Schleich Retired 2020 Preview... this is a list of everything that Schleich stopped production of mid-end of 2019, and we will see disappear from the line in late 2019 til end of 2020.

Every year with the exciting announcements of what new Schleich to expect in 2020, we must also say goodbye to many loved models in the process.

All these Schleich models will have all production finished by the beginning of Jan 2020, so ensure you get any of those missing from your collection before they become hard to source new.

Schleich Western Rider 42112

This western rider set has been a firm favourite of the Schleich line since 2014, after 5 years in production we farewell this beautifully crafted set. Schleich still offers two beautiful western sets, the western riding playset and team roping with cowboy.

Schleich Tournament Rider 42111

Released alongside the Schleich western riding set, these two have been retired side by side. With its pop of colour and in motion sculpt, this set has been a wonderful addition to the horse club, however with many beautiful new horse club horses and riders being released, it is time for this models production run to end. 

Schleich Show Jumper and Horse 42358

With production lasting only 2 years, this elegant show jumping set has retired leaving the Frisian Stallion Riding Tournament to hold the pride of place for the show horse. 

Schleich Friesian Stallion 13792

With the announcement of the 2020 release of a new Friesian Mare (13906) both the current Schleich Friesian Stallion and mare are entering retirement. The Stallion was also part of the retired box set 42269, which was produced in  2015 for the farm life series.

With the announcement of the 2020 release of a new Friesian Mare (13906) both the current Schleich Friesian Stallion and mare are entering retirement. 

Schleich Arabian Mare 13761

In January 2020 a new Arabian mare and stallion will be replacing these older models. This sculpt is a beautiful example of capturing motion, we look forward to welcoming the new 2020 Arabian mare.

Schleich Arabian Mare with blanket 41447

With the announcement of the new Arabian mare being released in January 2020, this lovely set accompanies its horse into retirement. 

Schleich Arab Stallion 13811

With the announcement of the new Arabian stallion being released in January 2020, this Arabian stallion will be removed from production, however the new Arabian stallion sculpt for 2020 is very in keeping with this retiring model. 

Schleich Trakehner Stallion 13756

A new Trakehner mare was released in 2019 and with the recent announcement of the new Schleich Trakehner gelding arriving in 2020, this mare has finished its 5 years of production.

Schleich Knabstrupper Mare 13769

2019 saw the release of two beautiful new Knabstrupper horses, the stallion and foal. With a new Knabstrupper mare hitting shelves in 2020, this popular sculpt will be retired. 

Schleich Mini Shetty Family 41432

With the retirement of the Schleich individual Shetland pony sets over 2017 /2018, this is the final older Shetland set to stop production. Schleich still has two beautiful current Shetland sets, the Mia and Spotty (rider, accessories and shetland pony) as well as the Schleich Pony Curtain Obstacle which includes a Shetland pony. 

Schleich Western saddle and bridle 42122

The Schleich Western saddle and bridle was brought out in close succession to the popular Western riding set with horse and rider. This gave customers the ability to use western tack on other horses.

Some breeds are more commonly used in western riding, such as Quarter Horses, Quarter Horse crosses, Paints. Some would be less common, such as Thoroughbreds, Standardbreds, and Lippizans, for instance. However this tack set made it possible for all Schleich horses to become western riding star.

Schleich Show jumping Saddle and Bridle 42123

The show jumping saddle and bridle tack set was brought out alongside the Schleich Show jumper and rider. Giving any Schleich horse the ability to become a show jumping success. 

Schleich Tournament Saddle and Bridle 42166

The tack for the tournament riding set was also made available for other horses, due to its bright splash of colour, it has been a popular set. Although now a replacement has been released with the horse club Hannah and Cayenne Saddle and Bridle.

Schleich Recreational Saddle and Bridle 52165

Schleich Recreational Rider was retired in 2018, however its accompanied tack set has only recently finished its production. This set was a firm favourite for every Schleich horse breed, and like the above retired tack sets, have been replaced by newer designs.

One of the few riding sets brought out for the Schleich Ponies, this tack set has been a staple for the ponies of horse club. With this set retired, it will not be possible to buy a pony saddle and bridle unless it is purchased through the Schleich Horse Club Mia & Spotty set, which includes Mia, her pony and accessories, as well as the tack. We wouldn't be surprised to see the tack from this come out separately in future.

Schleich Forest Dwellers Pack European 41458

The Schleich forest dweller sets have been beautiful additions to the wild life range. Each set had its own exclusive animal that was only available in the boxed set. In this case the Stag. 

Schleich Forest Animal Babies 41457

The Schleich forest animal babies set was also released in 2017 for the wild life range. This set matched up with the Forest Dwellers Pack North American boxed set. Its black bear cub (exclusive addition available only in the box set,) and moose calf naturally matched with the black bear and moose adults in the Forest Dwellers Pack North American. So these sets retiring together makes perfect sense.

Schleich Forest Dwellers Pack North American 41456

The Forest Dwellers Pack North American was released in 2017 and matches perfectly with the Schleich forest animal babies set. This set includes the black bear adult (exclusive addition available only in the box set) and adult moose, which match with the black bear cub and moose calf in the forest animal babies set.

Schleich Mountain Animals 41459

The final trio set to have its production halted is the Schleich Mountain animals. This set featured three wild goats, all exclusive to the boxed set. With only 2 years in production, we expect these to become sort after in years to come.

Schleich Big Adventure at the Waterfall 42321

This beautiful set follows in the footsteps on its smaller match Schleich Watering Hole 42258 this large set has been retired. This set includes three exclusive figures, the white lion male (which was also released in the 2019 wild life advent calendar, white lion cub and drinking zebra.

This panda enclosure is another short release line, with only a year in production before being retired. While it included some adorable accessories, it did not include a new panda sculpt.

Another short release being retired. This adorable rhino calf has had a short time on shelves, but we hope to see it back again in future with an adult.

The sloth bear was a unique and interesting addition to the wild life range. It is always exciting to see new species and it was a welcome new addition. However it is now time for it to move on and make way for new wild life ranges.

The American Bison has been a long standing and timeless member of the wild life range. It has graced the shelves around the world for 5 years and while it has lasted an impressive amount of time, and its production is now halted.

Schleich has done an impressive number of snakes, including this rattlesnake mid action. Luckily we are still left with multiple Schleich snake still actively in production, such as the cobra and anaconda.

Schleich range of sea life has shrunk over the years, however with the addition of the hammerhead shark and Orca whale calf being released in 2020, the sea life collection s numbers hold steady with the tiger shark and octopus entering retirement.

An iconic figure of the sea, the octopus has been been retired and remade by Schleich for many years. It is now time to say farewell to this beautiful sculpt, and we look forward to seeing its predecessor sometime in future.

While only in production for a year, the Unicorn standing was based on a long standing Schleich unicorn sculpt. The Schleich bayala line has had a influx of beautiful new sculpts released over the past two years, so it is understandable that this model has been replaced.

Another Bayala creature that has completed its run. 2016 introduced some unusual Bayala additions that brought real imagination to the range. However with the Bayala movie and a new story coming out, it is time for these older models to be withdrawn.

Schleich Giant Volcano with Exclusive Tyrannosaurus Rex  42305

The Schleich giant volcano set is an amazing set and did what few other models have been able to achieve, bring the world of dinosaurs to life with a active volcano. It is highly interactable and had wonderful reviews. However it is a large set and the clips holding it together could break unusually easily for a Schleich product. Being so solid and large, it also took up considerable space. Which may be why this set has now been retired. It still holds true as our favourite dinosaur set from any brand however. 

With its retirement comes the possible last chance for collectors to get the Exclusive blue Tyrannosaurus Rex that came with this set.

The kentrosaurus has been a long standing member of the prehistoric line, with this 2017 model replacing a previous kentrosaurus sculpt. So it seems natural for this line to have a rest.
