Spinosaurus is one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs to have ever lived, even larger than the famous Tyrannosaurus rex! It had a unique sail-like structure on its back, which was likely used for thermoregulation, display, or both. Despite being a fearsome predator, recent studies suggest that Spinosaurus was also adapted for swimming and spent a significant amount of time in water, making it the first known dinosaur adapted to an aquatic lifestyle.
