Clue One
A lion-shaped rock stands bold with pride.
Its mane is cliffs, its gaze is wide,
A king of the beach, by the ocean's side.
A rabbit in red, with a brave little grin,
Rides the wild surf, sea spray on his chin.
He's spotted the lion, strong and grand,
Guarding the edge of the sea-swept land.

Clue Two
Down below where the sunlight fades,
Whero explores the legendary caves.
With a lamp on his head & awe in his eyes,
He finds tiny lights like stars in the skies.
They twinkle above a silent stream,
A glowing world like a midnight dream.
Through tunnels carved by time and tide,
Our rabbit wanders, eyes open wide.

Clue Three
In a forest where giants stretch up to the light,
Whero looks up at a marvellous sight.
With walkways that wind through treetops so high,
He watches the sunbeams drift down from the sky.
Among towering redwoods, peaceful and old,
A forest of legends, both quiet and bold.
Near thermal springs and a geyser's song,
The rabbit keeps hopping all day long.
Another clue beneath the trees,
Can you guess where Whero sees these?

Clue Four
In the shadow of peaks so snowy and grand,
Whero floats near a forested land.
A mirror below reflects sky and stone,
Two mighty mountains in splendour shown.
With Aoraki and Tasman clear in sight,
He waits by the water in soft morning light.
On the West Coast, calm and serene,
This famous lake is a photographer’s dream.

Clue Five
With icing so pink and sprinkles so neat,
Whero spotted a treat that looked good to eat!
Round and sweet, it stood so tall,
He climbed right up and admired it all.
In a quiet town with a famous name,
This giant snack brings a bit of fame.
Near southern hills where the plains stretch far
Can you guess where Whero’s adventures are?

Clue Six
In a valley near our capital city,
Whero found a spot that’s peaceful and pretty.
A pointed red tower reflects on the lake,
While native birds sing with each step he takes.
Enclosed by a fence to keep predators out,
It’s a haven where nature is thriving, no doubt.
Kiwi and takahē roam wild and free,
Can you name this sanctuary Whero did see?

Clue Seven
With golden sands and ocean blue,
Whero finds a coastal view.
He leaps with joy from rock to rock,
One’s split in half - it’s quite a shock!
Shaped like a fruit, cracked clean in two,
It’s a seaside spot with a stunning view.
Near coastal trails where kayakers glide,
Can you name this place by the water's side?

Clue Eight
Today Whero’s floating high in the air,
Above painted tentacles stretching with flair.
A building of sea life, both real and in art,
With creatures that capture the curious heart.
You’ll spot tiny penguins waddling in line,
And glowing fish in tanks that shine.
Near the coast, where the sea meets the land,
Can you name where Whero plans to land?

Clue Nine
Whero looks out from a hillside steep,
To harbours and cranes and waters deep.
Where ships are loaded, ready to roam,
From this busy port they journey far from home.
Tucked by the hills with volcanic views,
It’s a place of trade and ocean news.
And one special ship, when the weather's right,
Sails to a land of ice and endless white.
