The Smilodon, also known as the Saber-toothed Tiger, lived during the Pleistocene epoch. It's famous for its pair of long, sharp canine teeth that could reach up to 11 inches. These creatures were not true tigers, but belong to a now extinct subfamily. They were powerfully built, using their strong forelimbs and large teeth to hunt prey.
