The Daeodon was one of the most fearsome prehistoric mammals, and its name literally means "dreadful tooth" - and for good reason! Living around 25 million years ago in North America, this creature was a type of entelodont, a family of ancient mammals that are sometimes referred to as "hell pigs," even though they aren't actually related to pigs. 

Daeodon had a massive head with jaws that housed sharp and powerful teeth, making it an apex predator of its time. It was built to eat nearly anything it could catch or scavenge, from plants to other animals.
