Did you know that baby pandas are called cubs, just like baby tigers and lions? When a panda gives birth, the cub is born blind, hairless, and weighs only about 100 grams (that's less than the weight of a small apple!). 

The mother panda takes great care of her tiny cub, nursing it and keeping it warm with her body. As the cub grows, it starts to develop black and white fur, just like its parents. Eventually, the cub will be able to climb and play, but for the first few months of its life, it relies entirely on its mother for survival.
