Native to Southern Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, toucans are a tropical species of bird that are well known for their large bills. Although it may look powerful, the toucan’s beak isn’t actually very strong and is instead used to reach for far away fruit. 

Toucan share some similar traits with parrots, such as bright colors and large beaks. They might be included in a parrot category in a broader, less formal sense (such as for the purpose of grouping colorful, exotic birds in a public display or for layman's understanding), but for scientific accuracy, it's important to note that toucans are not parrots.
